Tim Spears is the Director of designboom lab and Operations, and is based in London, UK.

Tim first joined designboom as an intern in August 2014, working as Technology Editor while completing his Master of Design in Product Design at Coventry University. After graduating in 2016, he returned as Branded Content Editor. Over the years, he played a key role in expanding partner services, reporting, and content, becoming Head of Branded Content in March 2021 and Managing Director of Branded Content in October 2022. Since January 2026, Tim oversees all aspects of branded content, from partner services and content production to strategy and operations as the Director of designboom lab – the magazine’s studio for bespoke content creation – and Operations. A nod to his university days, you can still find him behind the wheel for designboom’s latest automotive drives.
