alejandro finisterre may 6, 1919 – february 9, 2007 last month the creator of table foot ball ‘foosball’ passed away. he died at the age of 87 at his home in zamora, spain. born in spain alejandro finisterre was a poet, philosopher, editor, tap dancer and inventor. whilst injured during fascist bombings of madrid in the spanish civil war he saw many children injured in hospital and unable to play football. this along with his passion for table tennis was his inspiration for foosball. finisterre’s life story reads like that of an eventful drama including his part in one of the worlds first aircraft hijackings. read more via the guardian
