founded by american harry gordon selfridge, retail department store, selfridges on oxford street in london celebrates 100 years with a centenary exhibition.curated by lindy woodhead, author of ‘shopping, seduction and mr selfridge’, the exhibition features rare archive images of the selfridge’s earliest days, a sculpture made from the store’s carrier bags from the decades, art installations and photos of celebrities from over the years. the exhibition will run through the summer until 31 august, 2009 and is located on the ground floor of the department store.
