according to their website, ponoko is ‘the world’s first personal manufacturing platform. it’s the online space for a community of creators and consumers to use a global network of digital manufacturing hardware to co-create, make and trade individualized product ideas on demand.’ in short, they are aiming to bring digital manufacturing to the masses.

the site enables users to make, share, sell and buy products. ponoko provides the platform as well as the materials and technology, while users create the designs. the result is a growing number of products designed by individuals for sale to anyone in the world. a selection of some of these products was on show at the manufacturing exhibition.
