‘scw’ stool & prototype stools

simon ancher is an australian furniture designer based on in tasmania. ancher displayed his ‘scw (stool, crate, wood)’ during the design:made:trade exhibition during the 2009 state of design festival in melbourne. the project is a collaboration with fellow designer bruce nye, which transforms a milk crate into a pieces of furniture with a simple wood top. the piece can be used as a stool or table and stacked in a number of ways. the seat is removable allowing the crate to hold items below the seat. ancher also showed off a prototype stool with a cantilevered top.
