‘by:larm’ music festival by frode skaren and rune mortensen – here you can see the sculpture after several bands had been announced

the identity for the 2013 ‘by:larm‘ music festival by frode skaren and rune mortensen centers around a wooden sculpture that grows as more bands are added to the line up.

the first blocks in the sequence, display the key information such as the location, date and URL with band names added subsequently one by one.

‘we thought of the festival as a place to build a career and that all bands are different, but will together be part of a bigger whole that is the festival. with this in mind we started to make hundreds of bricks of wood in various sizes – each brick would represent one band – and started building this sculpture. it’s still growing with each new artist announced and it will end up being exhibited at the festival in february, in oslo.’ – frode skaren
