we all have had primitive memories about using leaves, stones and sticks as table wares. in some cultures, foods are still wrapped in leaves which are used as a case for cooking purposes. ‘a leaf x 10’ was inspired from historical eating rituals in japan, when it was customary to eat a meal on a leaf. the mat’s shape and detailing came from a small leaf which was enlarged to ten times its original size. each vein line of the leaf was carefully traced. ‘a leaf x 10’ combines nature with eating, bringing us back to nature and where we started from.
