floating organically in water, the ‘flambeaus’ by budapest-based anita boldog from AB concrete design, supports a mesmerizing, glowing flame. constructed from concrete, the piece comes in three different sizes and is fueled by biotheanol. used as display pieces at waterside events or festivals, the large size vessels can be planted and anchored into natural lakes. the uniquely illuminated object with its glowing flame is not only a spectacle to watch, but also provides a warm ambient light for its surroundings. aromatic bioethanel works as an effective mosquito-repellent, ideal for long summer evenings outside. the smaller sized ‘flambeaus’ can also be planted into ponds or pools for garden parties and get-togethers. steam and carbon dioxide are produced from the bioethanol’s oxidization, which burns without smoke so it is not harmful for nearby nature or people’s health.
