acne studios has opened a new retail location in west hollywood, its second los angeles location following its downtown L.A. opening in 2013. the space mimics that of an open plan gallery, taking over a pavilion-style single storey building with a two wall facade almost fully in glass.

positioned on melrose avenue, a specially commissioned large-scale sculpture by artist daniel silver acts as the focal point of the store. abstract shapes of stern, blackened aluminium create the framework for silver’s fabric cut outs of double-faced wool cashmere, which hang draped over the structure at the centre of the boutique.

acne studios has collaborated with the artist on 100 limited edition signed t-shirts to celebrate the launch, featuring a print of silver’s work and available exclusively at the new store.
two long term acne studios collaborators also contribute to the store including max lamb who has provided a custom made seating and display furniture, while benoit lalloz has created 85 of his round aluminium light fixtures which are integrated into the floating corrugated ceiling.
