‘adobe’ terracotta desk tools by ilaria innocenti

presented during salone satellite 2013, the ‘adobe’ desk tool collection by italian designer ilaria innocenti uses the ancient technique of manual brick construction for its production. the series consists of five different office utilities shaped with different varieties of clay, silt, sand and plant fibers – giving the objects contrasting variations of color. the pieces are softened by vibrant supporting metal frame volumes, enhancing the terracotta visual aesthetic and functionality. ‘I found interesting to develop household objects with the same technique used to build houses, letting myself be guided by the various colors resulting from the different compositions of the ground in italy.’ says innocenti
