nest is compact, lightweight, and easy to tow, weighing around 3,400 pounds which means it is light enough for a large SUV. the compact trailer has 112 square feet of floor space with external dimensions at 17 feet long by 7 feet wide. it features a queen-size bed, with a decent-sized bathroom in including a shower and toilet. there is also a fridge, microwave, a stove that works like a propane range, a closet, and quite a lot of storage space.

the nest was styled by automotive designer bryan thompson, who also worked on the basecamp, a smaller and lighter, but still aluminum, trailer released in 2016. echoing the iconic shape of other airstreams, the trailer boasts a plumpish body which sits low. it has panoramic front windows, a central door at the back, and a two-tone gray-on-white colouring.

a roof-mounted air conditioner keeps the space cool whilst a furnace warms the trailer up in the winter. both are controlled by a single unit on the wall, where bluetooth-controlled LED lights can also be personalized. you can adjust the color and set them to pulsate with music. the rest of the lights and the climate control are manually controlled. airstream’s nest starts at $45,900, a fraction of the cost of its full-sized classic, which sleeps five people, costs $139,900.
