naples-based designer alessandro di prisco’s ‘babol’ is a modular seat made exclusively of concrete — every single element here is designed to provide more seats in one, at different heights. designed for urbo, an italian company specializing in urban furniture, and in synergy with macevi, leading company in the manufacture of concrete artifacts, the bench has a smooth shape and can be repeatedly combined in the urban space.

the name ‘babol’ evokes the sound of the word ‘bubble’, it reflects the shape and soft curves of the seat, their plasticity and softness typical of bubble gums. the softness is only apparent and provocative, being in clear contrast with the hardness of the material used for the manufacture.

each unit of di prisco’s bench is suitable for outdoor living and can also be combined with more units to meet urban needs of squares, parks and pedestrian areas. the combination of four elements allows creating islands for rest and relaxation in recreational spaces.
