alessandro isola's wireframe collection wraps up into clear geometric outlines

dotted with a wireframe outline, alessandro isola’s latest outdoor furniture collection unravels as one aesthetic language. working by layers, the design includes simple cubic volumes that are subdivided into a series of planes encased within the metal border. these planes are then varied in terms of height to form platforms and storage space, creating both functional and modular pieces that can be re-arranged to suit the user.

wishing to bring about a sense of warm tactility to the simple modular forms, alessandro isola offers a contrasting combination of rough timber and smooth metal. additionally, the shape of the wireframe allows for an easy concealment of LED strip lighting which illuminates the furniture pieces — filling the original volume with light and depth. metal fins which form part of the panelling can be rotated to either open or restrict the view through, acting as both sun and privacy screens. finally, linear arrayed strips layering over one another from different modules can be used similarly to obstruct views or provide shade.
