brooklyn-based alexallen studio‘s CHORD product is the latest addition to their line of lighting and furniture. the design borrows the quality and style  of minimalist jewelry, with its metal finishes and details exuding the same refinery and elegance.

alexallen studio describes the overall effect of the product as light emanating into a void, ‘its source hidden in the simple form of a delineated semi circle’. this becomes the focal point of the duo’s latest photo shoot, where the fixture becomes a portal altering imagery within — while emphasizing the atmospheric effect of the light through its geometry. in the following images, founders alexandra burr and allen slamic pose with their latest product in a quirky yet vibrant photoshoot — playing on the idea of juxtaposition, overlap and alternate realities.
