burton nitta explores alternative ways to fuel the body through ‘algaculture’, creating a symbiotic relationship between humans and algae. the wearable suit proposes a potential future whereby humans will be enhanced by algae living within bodily organs, rendering  us semi-photosynthetic —  almost to the point of enabling us to become plant-like by gaining food from light — whereby we will be symbionts (depending on each other for survival), entering into a mutually beneficial relationship with the algae itself.
