anagrama: bermellón branding

bermellón branding / packaging by anagrama

anagrama‘s branding for bermellón, a mexican hot candy confectionery shop, uses vivid colors to help indicate the acidic and spicy flavors. the company’s main objective is to re-imagine these types of traditional treats found on mexican streets and markets and present them in a high-end manner through their boutique, packaging, excellent raw materials usage and hand-crafted cooking techniques. anagrama’s proposal reflects this with an elegant brand image comprised of a stenciled, serif typeface and a mark that alludes to a family monogram. the vivid colors act as a reminder about the product’s extreme flavors.

in designboom’s book review of ‘el super’ – mexican packaging you can see how large producers in mexico package similar spicy and acidic candies.
