‘bent’ by anika engelbrecht

german designer anika engelbrecht has created ‘bent’, a mirror-polished stainless steel sheet that curves at the bottom, forming a shelf. the reflective surface is usually used in prisons, public restrooms and children’s toys since it is durable, malleable and shatter-proof, unlike glass. the metal is only 1.5 mm thick and much lighter than traditional mirrors. various colors are applied to the back to accentuate the bend in the surface.
