Bottega Intreccio presents the dondolina armchair

Italian furniture producer Bottega Intreccio consolidates its creative team and joins forces with eclectic designer Antonio Aricò to craft the Dondolina armchair and three colorful seat cushions. Inspired by the traditional and the fantastic, the romantic and the antique, Aricò imprinted his poetic approach onto the product, combining the languages of art, craftsmanship and design, with colors evoking the Mediterran sand, sun, and Italian landscapes. Dondolina comes alive with its skirt-like base, the backrest reminiscent of tailcoats and the sinuous armrest mirroring a graceful movement of the arms. According to the duo, the armchair takes on the appearance of a poetic and imaginary character, as often happens in the designer’s production

a throne-like design by Antonio Aricò, with mediterranean flair

With its prominent tobacco-colored rush base, the Dondolina armchair by Antonio Aricò (see more here) for Bottega Intreccio (and here) looks like an ancient throne until it meets the high metal reed backrest reminiscent of the reed roofs of Mediterranean culture. Light filtering through this element returns an elegant pattern of solids and voids. Embellishing the design are the slender armrest, which with its barely vexatious progression wraps around the backrest, inviting one to use the seat, and three cushions that through Antonio Aricò’s expressive language become works of art. ‘Dondolina celebrates the gentle and slow rhythm of idleness, with the gaze turned toward the sea and the heart open to welcome deep emotions,’ writes the team.
