‘soma’ lampsclear skin webbed over a glass structure

 

soma – the beauty of the moon trough clouds – by female israeli designer and artist ayala serfaty. the exhibition features 24 unique pieces that investigate the relationship between glass and polymers. the material tissue that serves as the surfaceof her lighting objects is a combination of clear polymer web and glass veins, and looks like a fine membrane that enwraps them. serfaty called this a ‘spoma’, a term that in ancient greek means the physical body, with all its biological and vital dimensions.

 

new lighting pieces were also exhibited as part of ‘euroluce’, mobiles, pendant lights and wall lights saw ayala serfarty explore geometric forms.
