seba morales weaves chair’s curves into lighting design concept

Seba Morales reimagines the architectural arches of her Archway Chair into the ARC Lamp Project. This conceptual lighting design translates the chair’s curves into a vertical, sculptural piece. The lamp features a natural wood base, chosen for its organic grain patterns, adding texture and uniqueness to each piece. The lampshade, envisioned in a light fabric, offers a soft, diffused glow, creating a warm ambient effect. These elements come together in a balanced structure that echoes the design of the Archway Chair while standing on its own as a functional object. The base will be manufactured using CNC machining for consistent precision, and the fabric shade will be stretched over a lightweight frame, creating a look that complements the lamp’s architectural form.

the arc lamp project aims to balance form with function

Seba Morales’ design started with sketches and evolved through digital modeling, with attention given to the arch motif, ensuring a harmonious balance between form and function. The lamp’s structure is designed to maintain visual appeal while ensuring stability, with digital modeling allowing for precise control over proportions and design elements.  Although still in the conceptual phase, the ARC Lamp is set for future prototyping and testing to bring the design into reality. These stages will involve fine-tuning the Argentinian designer’s digital vision and ensuring that both aesthetic and functional standards are met. The lamp will be available in three sizes, offering flexibility for various spaces, and additional shapes and variations are in development, expanding the range to suit different design contexts.
