arik levy envisions ‘curtain’ as a lighting typology that brings together atmospheric illumination with a partitioning system — making it something functional whether it is on or off. conceived for spanish company VIBIA, ‘curtain’ can be arranged in a myriad of ways depending on their particular applications, be it a suspended chandelier, a fitting over the dining table, an installation within a reception area or public space, or as a ceiling partition for office and professional spaces.

the cascading lamps feature panels of hanging fabric that diffuse the light from within, and which vary depending on each ‘curtain’; playing with the tonal shadows and patterns of the textiles employed. the design is available in three different variations that can be combined in various ways: a version with a top rail LED fitting; another with a bottom rail LED fitting; and the third with both top and bottom rail LED fittings, the last being the most suitable as a space divider. the system is manufactured in different widths and lengths, adjustable depending on the suspension cables used to support the fitting from the ceiling. arik levy’s ‘curtain’ made its debut at euroluce 2015.
