the retegui marble company is operating in st. jean de luz, south-west france for over three generations and in 2014 has just launched a new brand of marble objects in collaboration with designer jean louis iratzoki. directed by claude retegui, the company has developed production techniques that enable the weight of the stone to be considerably lightened by combining natural stone with composite materials. the retegui marble company, with its team of 12 employees, including expert engineers and marble journeymen, particularly works in the shipbuilding and aeronautics sectors.

the designer has drawn on this expertise to create a luxurious range of tables with simply elegant and understated lines for both the home and the hotel industry. the new collection has been unveiled at the maison&objet / now design à vivre trade show spring 2014.

behind the simple and clear-cut lines of the ‘arin’ table lies a combination of highly-complex assembly, CNC precision milling and bonding techniques that place lightness at the heart of the design. the milled marble top has been made lighter thanks to the use of a strong honeycomb core with oak trim.
