Travertine, once excavated from Italian hot spring deposits, has been reborn with Iris Ceramica Group’s brand, Ariostea. The sophisticated stone of Ultra Marmi Travertino porcelain surfaces are faithfully reproduced in all of its iconic intricacies thanks to their patented technology. Available in a variety of thicknesses, colors, and slab sizes, the three new surfaces introduce a contemporary, tranquil essence to floors and walls of contemporary design projects.

Ariostea, (see here) established in 1961, is known for porcelain surfaces that combine the aesthetics of natural materials with the performance and precision of high-tech ceramics, qualities all present in Travertino lines.

travertino embodied in chiaroscuro & veining

As the building material of choice for many ancient Roman structures, travertine has come to acquire an air of Italian heritage.  This energy is expressed in three new surfaces which enrich Ariostea’s Ultra Marmi and replicate the vein-cut effect that produces the longitudinal streaking in the stone. Looking at the expansive slabs, the alternating shades reveal a chiaroscuro effect, punctuated with veins of varying thickness and intensity. The collection offers three color ways for builders and designers: Travertino Romano predominantly showcases sand and beige tones; Travertino Titanio mutes a hazelnut brown base with cream veins; and Travertino Silver elevates ecru tones with delicate shades ranging from ivory to gray.

pre-polished surfaces of ariostea’s Marmi Travertino

The porcelain stoneware surfaces show their versatility by being technically robust enough for bathroom construction while also maintaining a serene aesthetic elegance that engulfs those within its walls. Its visual charm is complimented by a smooth touch thanks to its ‘prelucidato’ (Italian for pre-polished) surface. Ultra Marmi Travertino is available in sizes 300×150, 150×150, 150×75, 75×75, and 75×37.5 cm, with a thickness of 6 mm.
