åsa kärner of swedish based alvidesign has created ‘silkchair’, a piece of furniture constructed by weaving silk thread in and through an oak frame. the object is on show now as part of ‘moving textiles’ at the stockholm furniture fair 2011.

the chair, with a perceived weightlessness, is composed of overlapping linear elements that work together to produce evolving and changing forms.
