Craftsmanship meets character in B—Line’s Italian-made icons

Design often finds its rhythm in the past, and B—Lines Timeless Objects collection does just that—bringing forward three iconic creations by masters of Italian design. Rodolfo Bonetto’s AKI umbrella stand is reimagined in miniature as AKI JR pen stand / object holder, Vico Magistretti’s 1986 PING PONG tray returns in cast aluminum, and Joe Colombo’s BOB object holder channels the joyful spirit of Pop Art. Each piece is a tribute to heritage, carefully reshaped for today’s spaces, where function meets form with elegance and a hint of play.

A tactile trio and bold updates headline the 2025/26 collection

B—Line stands apart in the furniture world for its thoughtful re-editions of 1960s and ’70s design icons, as well as for its contemporary offerings crafted entirely in Italy. Each object is made with care—materials chosen not just for durability, but for the story they tell through touch, color, and form. These are pieces meant to live with you: fluid in function, adaptable to domestic, public, or outdoor settings, and always grounded in an unmistakable Italian sensibility.

With the launch of its 2025/26 catalogue, B—Line introduces Timeless Objects—a capsule of three pieces that articulate the brand’s identity with clarity and color. Alongside these new entries comes a refreshed look for the catalogue itself, plus new finishes for the beloved Boby trolley. Together, they form a collection that honors the past without leaning on nostalgia, bringing iconic forms into the now with grace and wit.

iconic pieces from the foremost designers of the 1960s and 1970s

The first of these is AKI JR, a small but striking reinterpretation of Rodolfo Bonetto’s 1975 AKI umbrella stand. Reduced in scale and elevated in detail, this new iteration becomes a charming desk object—a pen holder or organizer—cast in colored-in-the-mass concrete or in solid Ash or Canaletto Walnut wood. Its sculptural presence and joyful color palette—Canary, Flamingo, Parrot, Pigeon—make it a playful companion for both work and everyday rituals.

The second piece, BOB, is perhaps the most expressive. A first edition of Joe Colombo’s original design, BOB is cast in polyurethane gel—a material that gives it its sinuous form and tactile softness. With single-pen holes and multi-sized compartments, BOB becomes an object of order and character. It feels at home on bookshelves, desks, or side tables, radiating that iconic Pop spirit in Dust, Mustard, Terracotta, Ocean, and Ice tones. It’s a piece that doesn’t ask for attention—but inevitably earns it.

Then comes PING PONG, a 1986 design by Vico Magistretti now brought into B—Line’s world for the first time. With the smooth silhouette of a table tennis paddle, this object tray in cast aluminum feels as fresh as it is functional. Available in two sizes and three colors—White, Cobalt, and Rust—its asymmetrical compartments and central grip hole lend it a dynamic energy, ideal for organizing or simply displaying. Designed originally for a London friend, it now finds new purpose in contemporary interiors, striking a balance between whimsy and utility. Designed for his London friend John Cook, in 2015 it was included in a series of tableware elements created by Italian design masters, which was presented at Milan’s Expo.

And speaking of Colombo, B—Line continues its homage with two new tops for his iconic Boby trolley. Two new vinyl-coated multilayer wood finishes—Confetti, a bright, joyous surface speckled like a festive backdrop, and Volcano, a dark blue base lit by glowing red specks—join the existing family of oak, walnut, and cork tops. The effect is both bold and tactile, adding personality to a design already beloved for its modular charm.

In parallel, B—Line unveils a revamped catalogue enriched with new photography, integrating a dedicated Contract capsule. This section highlights pieces tailored for hospitality and public spaces—like Bix, Fonda, Toro, and AD.DA—each customizable in color, finish, and fabric. Durable yet refined, these designs reflect B—Line’s instinct for versatility, made to resonate in both private homes and collective spaces.

With Timeless Objects, the company doesn’t just revisit the past—it invites it into the present with lightness and intent. These are objects not of nostalgia, but of continuity: where old ideas are polished, re-scaled, and infused with fresh meaning. It’s a collection rooted in the Italian tradition of beauty with purpose—quietly expressive and warmly modern.
