visually influenced by the feeling of floating in the french movie, ‘le ballon rouge’ from 1953, the seating by japanese studio h22043 creates the magic illusion of being lifted in mid-air by balloons. to create the effect, the furniture piece is carefully suspended from the ceiling by four anchors concealed by the inflatable volumes. sold by gallery somewhere in tokyo, the bench is available in an aged upholstered red leather finish, which aims to reflect on the deterioration from the continuous occurring conflicts from around the world.
