I see it from another perspective. While the intention might be commendable, I also think this is a sort of gimmicky action that companies make to profit on social events. Why launch a product that is in skintone in the first place while the main feature of the product is not cosmetic? Why can’t you just eliminate the skintone nature of the product completely and make it not about skin tones at all? Isn’t it that launching shades of skintones of the same product makes us become more aware of the skin colour of ourselves and others rather than helping us to focus on something more substantial about each other (kindness, intelligence, personality, experience, perspective, etc.): things that actually define who we are? Food for thought.
