antonio citterio creates an island of relaxation
designed by antonio citterio, the B&B italia noonu was named after an island of the madlives. to match, the sofa’s design appears to float, suspended in mid-air, as if an island itself. its supporting structure disappears from view whilst also being re-arrangeable in any position thanks to a roller cushion beneath the seat cushions.

overall, the sofa design has an inviting, relaxing character. this is thanks its deep seats which guarantee extreme comfort, as if a bold evolution of the chaises longues. it comprises four basic elements: a square, rectangle and then the ‘piano’ and ‘sail’. the piano-shaped base creates a welcoming curve in the backrest that also enables the sitter to distribute cushions freely. the ‘sail’ element provides a generous, rounded and organic volume at the front that recalls its island inspiration.
monica armani reinterprets a classic with allure O’ and flair O’
a new classic is born with the B&B italia allure O’ table designed by monica armani. it renews the shape of jackie O’s iconic eyeglasses, replicating her charm, luxury and poise as a furniture piece. elliptical geometric-shaped top surfaces – either as a square or rectangle and in two different sizes – balance atop a truncated pyramid base. these delicate proportions equal each other and strike a harmony of straight lines, sinuosity of curves and voluminous forms.

the flair O’ chair is the perfect husband for the table. the throne-like design matches with a truncated pyramid that widens gently on the back side as it nears the floor for additional strength. the result is elegant and charming. a swivel base option, where an automatic return mechanism turns back to its initial position, makes sitting and vacating the seat easier and more elegant for dining. as well as a range of fabric choices, the chair delivers the comfort renowned to B&B italia with soft, padded seating and an enveloping shape that wraps around the user.

‘for allure O’, a new family of tables, and flair O’, a small armchair, I designed light, precise, harmonious and lasting volumes that register in a person’s memory and evoke the fantastic glamour of the 1960s,’ concludes the designer monica armani.
