considering wood as a living material, benjamin graindorge has created ‘fallen tree’, a bench that reveals the true DNA of an arboreal form. the design sees the branches and trunk of a tree stripped back, transitioning into a seat that expresses the strong, untamed nature and beauty of wood. presented by gallery YMER&MALTA at FIAC 2015 in paris, ‘fallen tree’ captures the essence of wood as both a sculptural element of nature and a functional object.
