british creative richard c. evans has conceived a novel business card for bentply – a central london shop specializing in vintage, modernist furniture. the card is perforated in a particular way where, when manipulated, the 2D card transforms into a mini 3D armchair – referencing the shop’s namesake and goods. the design is letterpress printed by elegante press on three layers of card for durability and stability.

I think it’s worth mentioning that the chair design is by Gerald Summers in the early XX century
It does say : “based on the 1934 plywood armchair designed by gerald summers” at the bottom of the card
nicolene i tip my hat to your sharp eye. Are you looking for a job? Meantime i like the card and think it can be improved by making full-sized furniture this way. Imagine the ease of manufacturing and logistics. I have seen these designs before and think they are all good ideas.
Love this..imagination beats perspiration every day..LOVE IT!!( Probably the only chair I will ever say that about again….way too many new chairs on this site) And I’d cerrtainly keep that card on my desk. Brilliant
