bomma's suspended crystal constellations of light as unique as stars

there’s a modern simplicity to designs by bomma, especially their new constellation collection. founded in 2012, the czech lighting manufacturer proudly enhances the traditional glassmaking craft renowned to its country, but infuses this heritage with in-house innovations and technologies. the results, as exemplified by bomma constellation, pushes boundaries while also evoking century or even millennium-old fascinations, like astronomy. the designs are crystal lights as bright, dazzling and awe-inspiring in aesthetic, quality and craft as they are illuminating.

project your unique vision into space and create your own bomma collection,’ imagines the czech lighting manufacturer. like distant stars shining brightly in the night sky, the bomma constellation ensures each single pendant is as unique as each star up in space. whether organized as smaller compositions or immense constellations, the seemingly small light objects can be suspended as stand-alone pieces or even stronger in groups. there are a choice of three original collections: lens, soap mini, and dark and bright star.

the lens collection by deFORM studio resembles perfect optics of pure crystal, which, if swung, creates an almost hypnotic design. it is inspired – and aims to replicate – light refracted through a lens. here, the light source is encapsulated with one side of clear crystal and another offset by a single color. a range of tones can be hand-painted onto the component to match your desired hue, with the results creating a spellbinding suspended symphony of lights and reflections.

varying in shades, transparency and even shape, the soap mini designs by ota svoboda share characteristics with soap bubbles. a metallic sheen lines the irregular crystal forms, transforming its appearance from iridescent to translucent. they are hand-blown without a mold, which means each piece is original in both shape and color.

the dark and bright star collection by studio dechem builds upon the constellation’s inspiration of space. the pieces feature a shining center of precisely cut crystal. this star-like light source is encircled by a mouth-blown casing that alternates from dark to light, creating differing compositions especially when in groups.

with these three different design collections, bomma’s constellation can be combined, customized and mixed to fit your specific project. it enables creators, architects and designers alike to transform an interior with unique, standout lighting solutions. the manufacturer’s in-house team can realize your creative vision in every detail, from color to composition arrangements and even cutomized pieces.
