bottega veneta’s collection for the home continues to grow. for the salone del mobile 2012, creative director tomas maier presented two new furniture groups, numerous new styles added to the existing, and the introduction of a home fragrance, called ‘boisé’. the scent is redolent of wood and spices, notes of violet, bergamot, and vetiver lend freshness to the warmth of cedar and sandalwood. it comes in a room spray and a candle. the new additions to the line will be available in store beginning in september 2012.

new to bottega veneta’s trunk-inspired furniture is a tall bookcase with multiple shelves. the dimensions and design of the bookcase allow it to be set against a wall or used as a room divider. now available with cuoio leather profiles and corners.

the tassello system

the tassello system is a family of modular furniture pieces developed in collaboration with poltrona frau.
inviting, unusual, and ingenious, it acknowledges and addresses the reality of individual needs and particular spaces. the furniture is soft and slouchy, like a bottega veneta bag, and made of plump cushions. broadly speaking, each piece consists of two cushions: one cushion forms the seat while another leans against a leather-clad metal sheet to form the back. the tassello modular seating system is available in suede or soft, grainy leather.

the ‘camp’ furniture

the camp furniture line is a folding chair reminiscent of a director’s chair and a table-height folding stool.
available in suede with bronze metal as well as the original cuoio leather and linen with gunmetal or brushed metal.

the ‘floating’ furniture

the ‘floating’ furniture is made from a combination of glass, thin bronze bands, and lacquered, ‘intrecciato’ parchment leather. visible screws connect the glass to the metal frame, from which drawers sheathed in parchment are suspended– viewed head on, the drawers appear to float in thin air. pieces include a desk with a glass top and two sets of three drawers; a woman’s dresser, with four drawers; a night table with two drawers; and a refined console with a single floating drawer. available in laquered parchment in the colors pergamena and cigar, with bronze metal, and also in VN leather.

bottega veneta presented also the refined porcelain service made in collaboration with the legendary german porcelain manufacturer koenigliche porzellan-manufaktur, or KPM. first introduced in 2008, it is named ‘intreccio svanito’ (fading weave). every piece is shaped by hand and meticulously hand-painted.
