toronto artist bruno billio created an unusual sculptural installation at the entrance of the toronto interior design show utilizing 40 of vitra’s vegetal chairs designed by the bouroullec brothers. the installation suspended the chairs in green, white and black from the show’s ceiling using black rope tied with a simple knot. the piece was intended to evolve as visitors purchased the chairs from the display, untying them in the process. over the course of the event the sculpture would change colour form and size, until there were no chairs remaining.
