‘ta đi ôtô’ is a bicycle that has been outfitted with a seven-storey blue metal framework, functioning as a performative live/work space. conceived by bureau A, the mobile unit is a response to the densely populated and built environments of vietnam. the swiss firm integrates various platforms at each level, in different arrangements, continuously reincarnating the design’s function–perhaps serving as a vertical street food restaurant, an ephemeral house, maybe even a stage or mini-concert hall? circulating through the streets of hanoi, ‘ta đi ôtô’ is all at once a fundamental form of architecture and showpiece, serving the social needs of citizens.
