the second day of the business of design week forum in hong kong was filled with talks by architects from across the globe with andrew grant, director of grant associates, kicking off the plenary session with a presentation on his firm’s recent completion of ‘garden’s by the bay, singapore’ (see designboom’s coverage of its development and completion which won world architecture festival’s 2012 building of the year).

he was followed by sarah kenderdine, director of research for ALiVE and jeffery shaw, dean and chair professor of media at the city university of hong kong; winy maas, founder of MVRDV; and daniel liebeskind; who discussed details behind their work, experience and concepts for sustainable architectural development.

day two afternoon tracks were hosted under the themes of product & design; design for society; and asian design & cultures.

asian design & cultures:  kay-yin lo, jewelry designer and founder of yin expressions; yeung chun tong, curator of the university museum and art gallery; ashwini despande, founder and director of elephant design pvt. ltd.,; irvan a. noe’man, founder of BD+A design; william harald-wong, founder of william harald-wong & associates.
