french ‘decorateur’ nathalie lété has teamed up with isabel saiz of avenida home to bring her playful artwork to the table. at the fall 2012 edition of maison et objet in paris, we spotted her ‘boucherie extra’ home accessories collection. designboom liked the butcher dolls (with body parts with meat and sausage motives), and the victorian touch in her flesh carpets, silk scarves, and place mats with nostalgic but fresh floral patterns, painterly roses… the collection has an edge that sets it apart from anything done in that field, and has the potential to become a classic.

nathalie lété is an adventurous creator who likes mixing decorative themes and textile printing techniques with vibrancy. with a chinese father and a german mother, her designs brim with asian motifs and eastern european folk imagery. having lived in paris all her life, there is also a neat reference to her beloved city and bohemian studio. after studying fashion design at the art appliqués dupérré school and then lithography at the beaux arts de paris, nathalie went on to design for many high-profile brands, including astier de villatte, chanel, issey miyake, bourjois, and anthropologie.
