saint petersburg based motion-designer CAMFRAE uses maxon cinema 4D to visualize today’s electronic devices with rotary dials from the 20th century. electronic products — such as the keyboard, calculator, microwave and more — can be seen in the photo series below with modified number pads.

CAMFRAE blends the rotary dials with the 21st century products by matching the materials and colors. as seen above, the dial of the card reader is finished in transparent plastic to complement the grey plastic casing, while the numbers and the symbols maintain the colors of the regular number pads. CAMFRAE entertains the quirky visual combination of analogue and digital design but also admits that it may not be practical at all in real life.
