apart from having conceived the architectural scheme for firma casa, the campana’s have also contributed to the brand’s portfolio of furniture. on the occasion of design miami/ 2015, humberto and fernando present their latest collection for the company: ‘cangaço’ — a family of furniture that draws strong influences from the leather attire worn by 19th and early 20th century bandits (cangaceiros) who lived in northeast brazil.

even though the heat was unbearable during the day, cangaceiros would dress in heavy leather garments with various motifs which they would embellish with different metal details, sometimes sewn into the hyde, along with colored ribbons. working closely with master craftsman espedito seleiro, the campanas have translated the aesthetics and techniques of making cangaceiros’ clothing, into a furniture collection comprised of an armchair, bookshelf, cabinet, chair, mirror and sofa. each object exhibits a diverse combination of colors and patterns, resulting in vibrant, textural pieces that draw on nomadic peasants’ way of life, all made exclusively for firma casa.
