held over three consecutive years as part of milan design week, 2011 marks the fourth occasion in which canon inc. presents their ‘neoreal’ exhibition signifying ‘a new world of sensibilities’. this year within the 825m2 main space of the venue at superstudio più art point, architectural team torafu architects create a three-dimensional screen realized through countless strands of levelling cord(width: 0.5 mm / length: 16m) under the title of ‘light loom’. on this screen, ‘circle of light’, a projection comprised of expressions of multi-colored light images produced by visual design studio WOW, is displayed.

the concept behind WOW’s projections draws on light’s constant changes from second to second, from day to night or night to day, even throughout the seasons of the year. ‘circle of light’ is a continuouslyilluminating projection looking at light’s beauty and strength and the energy and peace that it is mean to bring us, concentrating on its circulation within one space.

overall, the installation consists of approximately 20 canon projectors, including the WUX10 markII, incorporating the company’s LCOS (liquid crystal on silicon) technology, in which images will be projected from multiple locations throughout the space. the imagery has been created using devices such as the EOS 5D digital SLR camera and iVIS HF M41 digital video camcorder.
