once annually, the elite of italian cycling charge through brianza, northwestern lombardy, in the coppa agostoni. after 69 years, the race has become a defining characteristic of the region, second only to one thing: design. located in the heart of italian design, some of the world’s most important studios, firms, and companies call the region home.

in celebration of both the race and heritage, designer carlo contin created a trophy concept for the 2015 race. the piece is made from collected scraps of wood from the workplaces of brianza’s foremost craftsmen cut and glued together. the result is simple, a bit rough, and no-nonsense; three traits that perfectly represents the area and its inhabitants.
