the countdown for a casio limited-edition G-shock timepiece with NASA has begun. the custom design coincides with the apollo mission anniversaries, building upon our fascination with the moon to resemble an accessory that appears ready for space exploration. it enhances the brand’s renowned form to add unique details that range from moon motifs to lunar-lit screens.

the casio limited-edition G-shock timepiece with NASA is an updated version of the DW5600 model. its square case shape and rugged band is fitted into an all-white space suit. the NASA logo stands out in bright red on the watch face, and ‘national aeronautics and space administration’ is printed in black on the lower band. the american flag is then printed on the band’s loop whereas an intricate engraving of the moon is etched on the case back. when dark, the screen features a backlight that reveals an image of the moon as well.

as per the original model, the watch offers the staple functions of casio. these include high shock resistance, 200 m water resistance, 1/100 second stopwatch, multi-function alarm, flash alert, countdown time, and 12/24 hour time formats. the custom design comes in packaging that is equally as space themed. the box reveals a view of the earth from space, while the tin inside is shaped like the space capsules that take us into the great beyond.
