the ‘corner store’ bag collection by LA-based jewelry designers cast of vices offers an upscale interpretation of everyday plastic bags. all pieces in the line are composed of lambskin leather and are hand sewn and hand embossed. their designs, however, are replicas of four plastic bag faces found in corner stores, shop stalls, and takeout restaurants throughout new york.

‘born from a desire to create artifacts out of our vices’, the new line playfully attacks consumer culture, while also raising questions about the meaning of handmade artisan work. produced in small (17.5 x 8.5 inches) and medium (21.5 x 12 inches), the bags are available through the concept shop colette.
