due to a lack of public awareness, the stray cats of south korea have received little support. as the number of homeless felines continued to rise to unprecedented proportions, national petshop chain ‘molly’s petshop’ led a collaboration to bring an affordable, eco-friendly solution to the quivering cats in need. last december, petshop customers who voluntarily bought food for strays also received a loving surprise — a wind, snow and rain-resistant hood house shelter. customer participation was outstanding.

local goodwill stores and petshop customers collected hoods and other padded clothing. they were then designed and reengineered into these cute little dome homes, fitted with a roof, a bed, bowls for food/water, and finally, a tent-shaped waterproof cover.

molly’s pet shop/e-mart saw a 1,254% increase in sales for stray cat food brand, ‘love together.’ awareness was raised to over one million people in just two weeks time. most importantly — over 2,000 stray cats were provided with a warm shelter, food and water, during the middle of december, in seoul. our only question — when will hood houses arrive in new york?
