the ‘anton strainer bowl’ is a product by caveman factory that provides a simple solution for multiple problems in the kitchen. the studio reports, ‘the question started with what kind of utensils we need to design today to correctly wash produce and eliminate chemical residues in an efficient way and also save water.’ thus, they turned towards old-fashioned kitchenware, such as strainers and funnels, which are rarely used today, for their simple and intelligent forms. as a result, the project has updated these tools in a smart way that fits contemporary lifestyles.

in order to remove a majority of pesticides from produce, you need to submerge fruits and vegetables for 10 to 20 minutes in water. this is process that can still render poor outcomes with a lot of wasted water. the bowl combats these ideas by integrating a clever funnel handle that presents itself as a functional work of art on the countertop. through this void, the act of draining pasta or straining orange juice has been made easier, keeping the contents from dirty dishes and bacteria at the bottom of the sink. afterwards, it can be used as a basic container for serving food to your family.
