while the trusty tricycle is usually regarded as a vehicle of childhood and the past, one hungarian designer is going lengths to ensure it’s very much a tool of the present. the CERO e-tricycle from tamás túri is a far cry from tricycles of old. the turquoise three-wheeler is specially designed for adults, and caters specifically to those with stability issues or variable energy levels.
the CERO is a modern update to the trusty three-wheeler
the CERO e-tricycle is designed with a low step through, its generous seat and backrest combination providing a lower centre of gravity than on a bicycle or scooter. the height and angles of the seat, backrest and crankset position are all completely adjustable, meaning you can adapt the tricycle to a variety of leg lengths to find the most comfortable position for you. thanks to the supportive cycling position the back, neck, shoulders and wrists are almost completely freed from burden, so you can cruise the streets in comfort.

the CERO can also be used to support physiotherapy programs for conditions such as spinal cord injuries and multiple sclerosis. ‘during 20 minutes of cycling with the CERO, each leg is bent more than 500 times’ explains túri, ‘even when your legs can barely move on their own, the passive movement alone can help to improve blood circulation in your lower extremities.’ there are three power options available with the tricycle; you can ride purely through pedal power, receive electric pedal support from the 250W front hub motor, or opt for 100% electric power assist.
