CESAR’S TANGRAM TRANSFORMS KITCHENS INTO FLUID LANDSCAPES

García Cumini elevates the potential of kitchen design with CESAR’s Tangram collection, translating its signature rounded geometry onto tall storage, wall cabinets, and suspended base units. Replacing sharp angles with variable curves allows light to diffuse naturally throughout the room. Grounded in spatial fluidity, the collection transforms cabinetry into an adaptable system where product and architecture build a continuous narrative.

‘In Tangram, light does not stop at the edges, it follows them. Curved surfaces soften contrasts and create gentle transitions, lending depth to the volumes. With the new module, this principle is extended to vertical elements as well, strengthening the dialogue  between solids and voids,’ says García Cumini, Art Director CESAR.

DECADES OF ADAPTABLE DOMESTIC CONCEPTS

Founded near venice in 1969, the company interprets the kitchen as the center of contemporary living, pioneering adaptable, open-ended domestic systems under the creative direction of García Cumini. The Tangram collection was first designed in 2022, starting from a reflection on geometry and materiality. Expanding the collection beyond the initial island design to include columns, wall units, and base cabinets, the system stands out for its unconventional approach to geometry.

‘The expansion of Tangram stems from the ongoing dialogue that CESAR maintains with  designers, architects and partners, which for us is an essential tool. It is through this  continuous exchange that we identify real needs and build new development trajectories,  allowing our systems to grow over time without compromising their identity,’ Gina  Cester, CEO CESAR

EXPLORING TANGRAM’S TACTILE DEPTH AND STRUCTURAL PRECISION

Behind Tangram’s curved silhouette is an advanced engineering process using multi-layer wood bonding calibrated for long-term stability. The collection expresses its material story through rich contrasts and tactile depth. A tall wall-mounted composition features Groove doors in Rovere Cortado, where irregular vertical millings conceal panel seams into a continuous graphic pattern. Resting nearby, the central island in Anodyc Bronze is topped with Breccia Sarda marble that extends into a snack counter supported by a natural stone column, framed by the Palmier edge profile.

Through these latest additions, Tangram evolves from a singular island into an adaptable, holistic domestic language. García Cumini’s blend of variable-radius curves and the rhythmic Groove pattern transforms static cabinetry into an engaging interplay of light, shadow, and texture. Accentuated by the refined Palmier edge, the system balances technical complexity with formal fluidity, confirming CESAR’s capacity to shape contemporary living spaces through thoughtful design.
