the circles at imm cologne 2024
Germany’s biggest interior design fair, imm cologne, opens its doors with ‘The Circles:’ a four-part, multi-event platform in which industry experts can gather, not just to network, but to to develop new ideas, glean inspiration and discover the latest in furniture and design trends. Taking place from January 14-18, 2024, this edition’s theme ‘Connecting Communities,’ offers valuable opportunities for businesses and designers to showcase their work, engage in dialogue, and witness the Pure Talents Contest 2024.

Throughout its history, imm cologne has been gathering exhibitors, designers, specialists, associations and visitors in the German city to explore the recent goings-on in the world of interior design. In mid-January 2024, imm cologne presents ‘The Circles’: four themed zones offering different approaches for participants to interact with the content of the trade show.

circles reveal latest in interior design trends
The Circles concept introduced by imm cologne is an extension of the ‘Connecting Communities’ theme, creating an environment that transcends the expectations of a typical trade show. The four Circles – the Circle Club, Café, and Bar, the Community Circles, the Installation Circles, and the Brand Circles – provide visitors with spaces to both expand and deepen their understanding of the industry.

Event-goers can uncover a multitude of fresh design concepts, ranging from the introduction of new materials to the exploration of artistic perspectives and state-of-the-art manufacturing techniques. Within the Brand Circles, exhibitors have the opportunity to showcase their most recent product lines, offering a window into the most recent trends and advancements. In the ‘Installation Circle,’ the boundaries between traditional design and art merge together. Here, three distinguished designers, also serving on the Pure Talents Contest 2024 jury, present installations on the themes ‘Sense of Surface’, ‘Impact of Light’ and ‘Welcome to Stay.’

After taking it all in, visitors can convene to discuss their experiences as well as their professional journeys. At the Circle Club, Café, and Bar, trade participants can relax, enjoy refreshments, and network and exchange ideas. Most of these areas also feature studio hosting programmes like specialist talks by curated speakers and product presentations by exhibitors. imm cologne also offers an interactive forum with its Community Circles, facilitating collaborations between various partners and exhibiting companies. Here, a group of seven renowned German interior brands – Object Carpet, Draenert, Walter Knoll, Rolf Benz, Kettnaker, Schönbuch and Freistil – are prominently featured in this shared space.
