more commentsHi John, Franz, SK and Vicente – Great comments – I’d like to post some reponses.
@John – This is a concern we’ve noted from a few people who have quickly changed their opinion once they demo’d the device. eg . https://nyc.streetsblog.org/2020/10/12/the-future-of-e-bikes-might-be-one-clip-away/
It’s surprisingly easy and quick to adjust to.
@Franz, Indeed! – We love the French Solex
@S.K. Kudos to you for engineering something like this in 70’s India. We have a proprietary algorithm that prevents slippage from the roller and prevents tire wear. This is perhaps something you may have lacked in your design. Also this is a pedal assist – and you can use it when you need to.
@Vicente – We chose to design for the front wheel because 1. We wanted this to be adaptable for as many bikes as possible – CLIP will work on any bike with mud-guards and luggage racks or even shared-bikes where the rear wheel is not easily accessible. Please send us any other questions you may have on [email protected].
Cheers and Best Regards,
Som
Should be driving the rear wheel !!!, as a loss of traction at rear wheel does not result in a loss of ability to steer the vehicle, the contact surface of bicycle tyre is very small and my concern would be that putting the drive thru the one steering wheel,is going to lead to attributing if not causing accidents !!!,
I am sure that many people will have pointed this out,
Hopefully.

John Rusbridge
Good
Ok so the guys reinvented the french solex…
Way back in 1972 myself and my brother (we both engineers) had tried similar design. But the front wheel tyre wears off very fast. Also it doesn’t perform effectively on bumpy roads.

Why installed in front and not in the back for more secured . Can it be transfered at the back wheel?
