closca: urban folding bicycle helmets

combining an innovative compression safety system and attractive aesthetics, valencia-based closca has developed an urban folding helmet that functions as a potential life-saver and fashion accessory. joined together with straps, the telescopic design expands and collapses in three different sections – all of which absorb the impact in the case of a crash. in reducing its volume to just under 50% when compared to traditional helmets, the ‘closca’ can be easily stowed away inside a backpack, messenger bag or tote bag when note, as it packs into a flat book-like form when not in use. conceived with its own built-in ventilation system, it allows consistent air flow when cycling. in addition to its folding capabilities, the helmet is also compatible with different interchangeable textile covers.

the closca urban helmet is currently seeking funding on kickstarter.

    father says:
  • Lady´s bag ist too small

    george says:
  • Can’t see how a helmet with moving parts is going to be effective at dispersing the force of an impact.

    SJS says:
  • HI!

Sorry for the delay in answering.

In fact the moving parts make the helmets saver due to that the hit of the impact it is absorb by the differents parts of it and that increases the security.

    Josle Artal says:
  • It looks to be a great design and something that will do well in urban markets, like New York. I have ordered one and cannot wait to test it. I have many friends (and several bike shops!) that are also interested in this. Bravo!

    Jonathan Shannon says:
  • I just got one of these from bikepretty.com. The gray one. Im super happy with it. The folding feature is great when you’re out at the bar or whatever.
