ephemeral lanterns and virtual reality towers at concéntrico archietecture and design festival

photography studio ‘boysplaynice’ captured these photos around the city of logroño, spain, at the international festival of architecture and design, concéntrico. of the many installations, panels, discussions and performances, here are the highlights from seven works.

the focus for this year’s concéntrico festival was for design teams to experiment with new fields of environmental design. plastique fantastique answered the prompt with a giant inflatable ring — fit only for a piece of architecture. boysplaynice interestingly photographed the ring before and after inflation — further stressing the ephemeral nature of plastique fantastique’s work.

down the street at plaza de muralla del revellin, davide marchetti’s otravisión tower pavilion stands tall and inviting. inside the wooden structure, viewers experience something far different — an interactive virtual reality opportunity. essential, the tower is a virtual periscope for viewers to experience the area from a higher perspective.
